Bar Tables for Hedwig and the Angry Inch
An extension of the set, these tables were front row seats for audience members for an intimate production of Hedwig. Grime, “spills”, and graffiti were added to make them feel like they belonged in a dive bar (without any real stickiness). Embellished with carving, markers, paint, sandpaper, Mod Podge, and glue.
Paramount Records Trunk for Chasin’ Dem Blues
Trunk modification on existing stock foot trunk. Stencil design, based on original Paramount Records logo, modified for cleaner lines and simplified transfer. Final stencil cut, applied, painted, and distressed by Carly Anders. (Milwaukee Repertory Theater)
Bridal Shop Draper Table for West Side Story
Multi-step distressed paint treatment to give illusion of decades-long use. Dark wood “stained”, then painted with soft blue. Sandpaper and wet-blend techniques utilized for worn corners, scratched sides, and chipped paint. (Milwaukee Repertory Theater)

Juggling Clubs for One Night for One Drop, Cirque du Soleil
White plastic juggling clubs, painted with a multi-step wood grain treatment to resemble wooden bottles. Painted with Rosco Off-Broadway paints & sealed with a PPG Breakthrough tinted glaze.
Stylized Trompe L’œil Chairs
Carved dark-stained chairs repainted in a stylized golden trompe l'œil style for UNCSA’s production of La Cenerentola. Painted in 5 step treatment using Rosco Off-Broadway paints.

Halloween Cemetery Archway
Freelance commission project for private client, looking to upgrade his standard Halloween display. Archway intended to act as a “frame” for projection screen. Constructed using insulation foam, heat tools, carving, wet blend multi-step paint techniques, and subtle lime & moss details gave these columns their ghoulish facade.
Trompe-l'œil Signage
Trompe l’œil design for UNCSA’s Trompe l'œil & Scenic Sculpture class, painted on 4’x4’ stretched muslin flat.
Spray Project
Final project for UNCSA’s Foundations of Scenic Painting II class. Recreation of source image accomplished using only HVLP, garden, & pneumatic sprayers on 4’x8’ muslin flat.
